About Bridge Every Gap
The JEMS Program is a transformative initiative by Bridge Every Gap designed to empower middle and high school girls through mentorship, leadership development, enrichment, and sisterhood. JEMS serves as a pipeline of empowerment, intentionally nurturing girls into confident, equipped, and purpose-driven young women prepared to transition into SHE Scholars and beyond.
Through engaging experiences, meaningful mentorship, and a supportive community, participants gain the tools, confidence, and connections needed to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
JEMS offers:

Program Components
Part 1: JEMS Virtual Summer Camp
June/July | 3 Weeks- Virtual Summer Camp
An interactive virtual experience designed to inspire growth, connection, and learning during the summer months through engaging workshops, discussions, and enrichment activities. An enrichment experience providing mentorship, skill-building opportunities, leadership development, and community engagement.
JEMS College Tour Series
Fall - November | Spring - April
A tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to help expose high school students to opportunities for higher learning. Fall tours cover Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia schools. Spring tours cover D.C., Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina Schools.
SHE Retreat: JEMS Exclusive Experience
March
JEMS participants have the opportunity to participate in the dedicated JEMS track during the annual SHE Experience Retreat, connecting with peers, mentors, and women leaders across generations. This is an experience shared with an adult also attending.
Program Tracks
🔵 High School Track: FOUNDATIONS
Focused on preparing young women for life beyond high school through:
- College and career readiness
- Leadership development and public speaking
- Financial literacy
- Entrepreneurship exposure
- Goal setting and future planning
🟣 Middle School Track: CARE
Designed to support girls as they navigate the foundational years of adolescence through:
- Identity and self-esteem development
- Friendship and social navigation
- Emotional awareness and wellness
- Introduction to time management and goal setting
